About LHGPhotoCraft

RG IMG_1695Lauren Golden is a practicing physician in New York City, an endocrinologist at the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center of New York Presbyterian Hospital.  Her foray into photography began early in childhood with a Kodak Instamatic camera, with which she quite successfully beheaded friends, family and all of the major statues in Central Park. Soon thereafter, she learned of F/stops and apertures from her father, a fellow physician photographer.  Her mother, a teacher and musician, helped her refine her compositional aesthetics.  Years of film photography followed, with time in high school and college spent pursuing black-and-white photography and honing her darkroom skills.  After a hiatus from hands-on photography during medical school, residency and fellowship, Lauren returned to active photography two years ago and began an exploration of the digital world under the guidance of Margo Taussig Pinkerton and Arnie Zann (http://www.bcphotoadventures.com).Lauren’s photography combines a love of the outdoors with an observer’s delight in pattern and details.  With the wonderful support of family and friends, she was thrilled to be juried into Artist Craftsmen of New York in 2008, and to participate this year in her fifth annual ACNY gallery exhibition at the New Century Artists Gallery in Chelsea, New York.In October 2013, Lauren was honored as a nominee in the 8th Annual International Black and White Spider Awards.
